Rosemary Dersch, age 91, of Dunlap, passed away at 6:20 AM on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center.
She was born January 1, 1934 in Peoria, a daughter to Willard and Marie (O'Connor) Waugh. She was raised and educated in Peoria, graduating with the Class of 1952. on September 4, 1954 she married Roger Dersch in Peoria, together they cherished 53 years until his passing on November 2, 2007. Rosemary was a devoted mother who cherished her family and put them above everything. She will be remembered for her humor, love, wit and charm that would light up a room. Rosemary was an excellent quilter whose quilts will be forever cherished by her family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include four children: Steven Dersch of St. Charles, MO, Barbara (Bruno) Bellinaso of Crystal Lake, IL, Lynn (Kevin) Betts of Port Orange, FL and Christine (Craig) Calcaterra of Fort Mill, SC; six grandchildren: Ross, Reid, Nolan, Andy, Jack, and Sydney; one niece Sue Blasco and three nephews: Jay Woodward, Tim Runkle, and Lex Passaris.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters and one brother.
Cremation rites will be accorded. The family will receive friends at St. Jude Catholic Church on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 from 10:00 AM until time of memorial mass at 11:00 AM. Father Patrick Henehan will officiate, and a private graveside will be held at a later date where Rosemary will be laid to rest with her husband in Herstein Cemetery in Morton.
Preferred memorials in Rosemary's memory may be made to a charity of the donor's choosing.
