I remember moving to Hancock back in 2002 and was introduced to him at the school for my daughter's, Emma & Lauren. He was the most nicest and funniest teacher at HCS. HE helped many kids get to where they are today. Thank you Mr. Dix!

Thoughts and prayers are with the families at this time of sorrow. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was a great person he was .When we were at grandma Millers we would play with the brain teasers. He inspired me to put our sons into the wrestling. I always told them how good of wrestler my cousin David was. Gone to early. .

Betsy and Family
My sincere condolences. Dave was a very humble man. Kind to all who knew him. I had forgotten he shared my Dad's name along with my brother David. His presence here on this earth will be a large void. I know you have many great memories and all leave you with a smile. Hold them close to your heart and may they comfort you always.
Love Betsy Hempstead

Mr. Dix was truly a special man and I will always remember him fondly. In addition to being my Middle School Science Teacher, Dave sometimes employed my brother and I at his home in the processing of firewood. I still talk about my favorite line of his, which Dave would use every time we took our lunch break. Dave would ask my brother and I if we would like a piece of cake. When we replied "yes" Dave would say "Me too...I wish I had some". I use that one myself these days and will always remember the man who taught it to me.
I would like to offer my sincerest condolences to Dave's family and friends.
