David H. Doolittle passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 surrounded by loving family. He was born in Mobile, Alabama August 4, 1937. He is preceded in death by his parents Robert E. and Grace Doolittle, and his wife of 62 ½ years, Dr. Norma O. Doolittle.

David was a devoted husband and father. He found total peace on the water. If you know David, you know he is on a boat finding all the best fishing holes and enjoying the serenity that being on the water brings.

David is survived by his two children, David Keith and Pamela Ann, six grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Bob and Clinton Doolittle. He will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

Services will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 2 PM. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until service time Saturday at the funeral home. The family requests that any donations be made to St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital in David's honor, an organization he cared deeply about.

He never looked for praises

He was never one to boast

He just went on quietly working

For the ones he loved the most

His dreams were seldom spoken

His wants were very few

And most of the times his worries

Went unspoken too

He was there.... a firm foundation

Through all our storms of life

A sturdy hand to hold onto

In times of stress and strife

A true friend we could turn to

When times were good or bad

One of the greatest blessings

The man that we called Dad (Grandpa, Brother, Friend)
