David Abner Duncan, 70, of the Cove community, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Monday, August 18, 2025 at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.

Mr. Duncan was born on July 11, 1955 in Manchester, GA, the son of Lewis Carl Duncan, Sr. and Eunice Aldena West Duncan. A proud lifelong resident of Meriwether county, he was raised in Warm Springs and lived most of his adult life in the Cove community. He was a self employed carpenter and builder for over 25 years, after working with Steel-Heddle in Greenville, GA for many years. Mr. Duncan was a dedicated volunteer fireman for many years with the Cove Fire Department. He was also a devoted member of First Assembly of God for over fifty years, where he served in many leadership roles, and was currently serving as a board member. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish, with rabbit hunting bringing him the greatest joy. He loved to spend time on the Flint River in his beloved Cove community. Being in construction and carpentry, he was a master builder. He loved to spend time woodworking in his shop at home. Mr. Duncan was a decent and hard-working man, who both knowingly and unknowingly mentored and left lasting impacts on many people. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His family and the memories made with them always brought joy to him and held the most special place in his heart. He was a true provider for his family and for others, something he took the utmost pride in. He always sought to help others. Mr. Duncan is preceded in death by his parents, and aunt, Rosie Tyson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Patsy Duncan of the Cove; children, Buffie Duncan of the Cove, Jeremy (Beth) Duncan of Woodbury, GA, and Joni (Marc) Sansbury of Manchester, GA; brother, Lewis Carl (Myrtle) Duncan, Jr. of Warm Springs, GA; grandchildren, Noah Duncan, Abbie Duncan, Brooklyn Sansbury, Londyn Sansbury and Meggie Sansbury; and numerous nieces nephews, extended family and friends.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at the First Assembly of God in Manchester. Interment will follow in the Cove Baptist Church Cemetery.
