David Dunlap Obituary
He was an insurance agent for New York Life Insurance Company. David was a devout, conservative Christian. He served his community in a variety of ways: former treasurer of Fern Creek Babe Ruth League and leader of the Fern Creek Optimist Club, and coaching a variety of 28 youth sports teams in Fern Creek and Highview.
David is survived by his wife, Sharon Lewis Dunlap; children, Damon Todd Dunlap and Betsy Dunlap Philpott (Beau); grandchildren, Hannah Kate Dunlap, Evan Michael Philpott and Harper Noelle Philpott; and siblings, Glenna Mehling, Gale Dunlap, and Wayne Michael Dunlap.
His funeral is 10am Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation is 3-7pm Friday, March 22, 2024 at the funeral home.

I played baseball with David in 1959 at Jeffersonville High School. David played second base and he was a good hitter.

I knew him as Mr. Dunlap. He was my neighbor on Victoria drive growing up. He and his wife Sharon were the nicest neighbors of all. Part of my wonderful childhood memories. Rest in peace Mr. Dunlap. Thank you for all your smiles!
