I was very saddened to learn of the death of David. He was a friend and a work colleague at NASA. Although I had not spoken to him in several years, I shall always remember him. There was never any pretentiousness by David. He was a sweet country boy. What you saw was what you got. But on the other hand, he was very smart. He was a sterling example that NASA was more than just engineers, scientists & PhDs. As a very gifted technician, he probably had more smarts about pressure systems than many engineers.
He was able to make me laugh a few times when our work situation became especially dire, which is how I'll always remember him.
