A celebration of life for DAVID HUGHES EDDINGTON, 101, will be held 10am Friday April 25, 2025, at the All Saints Episcopal Church with Reverend Kenil Barling officiating and a light reception will follow. David passed away peacefully April 19, 2025, at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff and cremation has taken place. In Lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Episcopal Church in David's name. Arrangements are under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home and condolences may be sent to www.colyerfuneralhome.com David was born October 9, 1923, in Salina, Kansas to John and Indiana (Hughes) Eddington. He and his family moved around Kansas until David was eight, and in 1931 the family settled in Veteran, Wyoming. He graduated from Veteran High School and after graduation he started attending the University of Wyoming where he eventually graduated with his master's in agriculture. While attending college he had to help his mother on the farm while his brother John was in WWII. David married the love of his life Ruth Harris on August 29, 1954, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Together they had a son Craig. David had a very long and successful career working for Holly Sugar. He moved around many times for the job. He started as an agriculture field worker and made his way to the top, retiring as a higher up manager of Holly Sugar in 1986 to begin traveling the world with Ruth. Together they shared 41 years of marriage until her death in 1996. After Ruth's death he married Gertie Poage on August 29, 1998. The two loved to travel and spend time together. They were married for 18 years until her passing in 2016. David's love for his family was immense and he loved all of them dearly. He had a lot of things he loved to do in his free time, but his biggest hobby was being a people person. David did not know a stranger and if he did it was for a very short time. He referred to everyone as "That's my very best good friend!" There were so many things that David did and saw in his 101 years of life. He even wrote and published a book in 2010 called "It's Been a Good Life". He will be missed by all those he made an impression on. David is survived by his son Craig (Roxann) Eddington of Torrington. Grandchildren; Shannan Eddington of New Mexico and Katie (Austin) Ellefson of California. A great-granddaughter Fallon Ellefson. His step grandchildren; Adam (Karyn), Luke (Beth), Rebecca and Rachel as well as numerous extended family members. He is preceded in death by his two wives: Ruth and Gertie. His parents and brother John Eddington.
