David Bryant Ekholm of Mexico Beach, Florida passed away on Friday, April 7, 2023 at the age of 87. He was born in Abington, PA on March 20, 1936 to the late Lars Ekholm and Edith Thomas Ekholm. David was a proud graduate of Staples High School in Connecticut and earned his Bachelors Degree in History at Williams College. He married the love of his life, Marion Juliet Nespor on April 28, 1962. David was a bird enthusiast and a member of the Audubon Society. He was also a history buff and enjoyed reading anything related to WWII. No matter where David and Juliet were living, he loved to walk everywhere. Julie, David and Roberta Diane attended St. Anne's Episcopal Church in Warsaw, IN where David loved being involved with ushering for over thirty years.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
David is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Juliet Ekholm of Mexico Beach, Florida; one daughter, Roberta Beasley and husband John of Port St. Joe, Florida; twin sister, Diane Ekholm Valante of Westport, Connecticut and one sister in law, Roberta O'Hara of Connecticut and Port St. Joe, Florida. Also surviving are nieces Edith Van Breems and Ingrid Gordon and their families.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, April 16, 2023 from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. at Roberta's Home (218 Tidewater Drive, Port St. Joe, Florida 32456).
A private family entombment will be held at St. James Episcopal Church Columbarium at a later date.
Arrangements are entrusted to the caring staff of Comforter Funeral Home in Port St. Joe, Florida
