David Charles Farnum Sr., age 63, of Bryant Pond, passed away on October 16th, 2025, surrounded by his family after a long battle with lung cancer. Born December 25th, 1961 in Rumford, ME, he was the son of the late Grace and Donald Farnum Sr.
David was a loving husband, son, brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather to many. He is survived by his wife Debbie Farnum of 45 years, married May 3rd, 1980, and their four sons and daughter-in-laws: David (Bub) Farnum Jr. and Miranda Crocket, Devin Farnum and Tiffany White, Darren and Sarah Farnum, and Dustin and Oressa Farnum.
David is also survived by his siblings Carolyn, Jimmy, Debbie, and Melissa.
His memory lives on with his many grandchildren- Hailey, Gracie, Blake, Cadence, Rilan, Vincent, Reagan, Evan, Natalee, Moriah, Darren Jr., and Isla- and his great-grandchildren- Remington, Kane, and Carson. All will always be grateful for their time spent with the best "Grampa" imaginable.
David leaves behind a wide circle of support, but he was especially grateful for the help from Kasey Butler and Caleb Howe, who were always there for him.
David lived a humble and hardworking life rooted in the values of family, friendship, and quiet perseverance. From a young age, he dedicated himself to farm work, a labor he carried out for most of his life. In later years, he worked at the mill, where he drove a switcher truck alongside his partner and good friend, Ralph.
Outside of work, David found his greatest joys in life's simple pleasures- ice fishing on cold winter mornings, time spent with loved ones, and the loyal companionship of his dog Jett.
He is remembered by those around him for having the ability to make everyone laugh. David was always ready with sound advice and never hesitated to speak his mind. He had a gift for telling things like they were and making people feel seen and cared for. Nothing mattered more to him than the happiness and well-being of those around him.
In accordance with David's wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service.
He will be missed deeply and remembered always.
Arrangements are under the care of Albert & Burpee Funeral Home Cremation Services 253 Pine St. Lewiston, 207-782-7201.
