David Leon Fields, 77, passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025, in Holliday, Texas.
David was born on January 19, 1948, in Carrollton, Illinois, to Curtis and Dorothy (Combs) Fields.
David lived his life to the fullest and was never afraid of anything. He worked hard every single day and always offered a helping hand to anyone in need, even when he had little himself. He loved being a cowboy, working and branding cattle with his brand the Rocking F, and especially riding his beloved horse, Rhett. His courage, generosity, and strength left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him.
Throughout his life, David worked as a cowboy and rancher but also as a truck driver. He married Pat Pierce on May 13, 2006, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his step-son, Dale Pierce.
David is survived by his wife Pat; his three sons, Heath, spouse Becca Fields of Archer City, Texas, Corey, spouse Deanna Fields of Wichita, Kansas, and Michael, spouse Brandie Fields of Pinedale, Wyoming; step-son Billy Pierce; grandchildren Quintin, Caylan, Avery, Blake, Lane, Shealynne, Finley, Declan Fields, and Leana Farris(step grand daughter); and a host of family and friends.

There will be a celebration of life for David at the picnic shelter in Hamilton Park of Wichita Falls, Tx on Saturday 30 Aug from 10am-1pm.
