David Douthitt Frary, age 78, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2025, at Ashton Place Health & Rehabilitation in Barling, Arkansas. He was born on March 6, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois, to Frances "Fritzi" (Douthitt) Frary and C. Deane Frary. David earned his degree from Monmouth College in Monmouth, Illinois, and later built a successful career as the owner and operator of his own trucking business. On June 14, 1969, he married his beloved wife, Wiki Frary, and together they shared 56 wonderful years of marriage.
David was a man of strong faith and lived by the values of his Methodist beliefs. He had a deep love for dogs, a lifelong appreciation for classic cars and big rigs, and a sense of humor about his selective fondness for people. An avid sports enthusiast, he enjoyed basketball, football, and bodybuilding in his earlier years.
David is survived by his devoted wife, Wiki Frary of Greenwood, Arkansas; three children: Mark Whittington of Los Angeles, California; Christina Powell and husband Wade of Ozark, Arkansas; and John Whittington and wife April of Maumelle, Arkansas. He also leaves behind six grandchildren-Baylee, Trey, Walker, Isabella, Rosie, and Brooklyn-and one great-grandchild, Rory. He is also survived by his brother, Denny Frary of Prophetstown, Illinois, along with several cousins, including Anita, Chris, and Pat.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fritzi and C. Deane Frary.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 30, 2025 at Asbury Church, located at 10 W Denver St, Greenwood, AR 72936. Pastor John Embrey will officiate. Cremation arrangements are under the thoughtful care of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
David will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
