David Emil Fromme, 65, of Holts Summit passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at home surrounded by his family and friends. He was born April 14, 1959 in Jefferson City the son of Jackson and Patricia (Ortmeyer) Fromme. He was united in marriage on August 27, 2004 to Sharraine Naugle.
He was a 1977 graduate of Helias High School. After High School he joined the United States Army where he received an honorable discharge. He ran his own business David Fromme Excavating, LLC since 1979. He loved what he did and took great pride in his work. His other passion was firefighting. Chief Fromme dedicated eighteen years of exemplary service to the Holts Summit Fire Department and fifteen years to the Taos Fire Department, now known as Osage Fire District. Throughout his career, Chief Fromme was instrumental in overseeing the district fleet and ensuring the maintenance and repair of the equipment. His commitment and contributions to the communities and fire districts will be profoundly missed. Dave loved animals, whether it was boarding, riding, and showing horses or in his younger years helping at his family farm with the Polled Herefords or baling hay on a hot summer day. He cared deeply for his two dogs, Champ and Spud. Much like his father, Dave enjoyed model railroading, HO scale.
Dave was always willing to help anyone and would give you the shirt off his back. He was good at anything he set out to do and was known to be an excellent builder. More than anything he enjoyed the time he got to spend with his family and many friends.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Sharraine; mother, Patricia; step-son, Derrick Meister (Marenda); sister, Bev Thessen (John); grandchildren, Avah Meister, Jamie Brill, Victoria Stofer; adopted grandchildren, Peyton and James Warden; niece, Kristin Scheppers (Matt); nephew, Jake Thessen (Rebecca); a great niece and nephew; as well as, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and long-time friends and co-workers. David was preceded in death by his father, Jack Fromme; his father and mother-in-law, Harold and Billie (Craig) Naugle; uncles Michael Ortmeyer, Robert Eichholz; cousin Vicki Eichholz-Schulte and Julian Menke.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
Friends will be received from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 18, 2024 at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. A Memorial Service will follow at 6:00 p.m. officiated by Chaplain Nolan Wynn. Services will be streamed on Pleasant Ridge website.
Arrangements are under the direction of HOUSER-MILLARD Funeral Directors, 2613 West Main Street, Jefferson City, Missouri 65109 (573) 636-3838. Condolences may be left online for the family at www.millardfamilychapels.com.
