David O. Fuller, 76, Greenfield, Wi, died peacefully on Monday, May 1, 2023, at his daughter's home from cancer.
He was born on December 23, 1946, in Waukesha, WI. The son of the late Oliver and Agnes (Aubry) Fuller. David was a veteran who served in the U.S. Navy for six years, two years active and four years reserve. He was a QuarterMaster E5, navigation. He steered the Henrico ship from San Diego to Vietnam, Thailand, and the Philippines.
After completing his time, David still wanted to help people. He began his career in Respiratory Therapy at Oconomowoc Hospital. He worked at many hospitals around the Milwaukee/Waukesha area devoting countless hours per week. He was last employed at St. Francis Hospital for 20 years. During the height of Covid, at 72 years old, he worked 70-80 per week. David was the oldest practicing respiratory therapist in the state. He retired in April 2022, after 53 years, because of health issues. He loved what he did and had a huge heart for others. He also owned two businesses, Southeast Home Medical Equipment, and the Riders Inn with his twin brother, Dennis.
David was married to Mary (Dombrowski) Fuller in 1970, and had a daughter, Angelene (Fuller) Heller. Divorced. David was married to Maureen (Campbell) Fuller and had daughter, Kathleen Fuller, and son, Peter Fuller. Divorced.
David owned many boats over the years and always enjoyed sailing. He was a member at the South Shore Yacht Club for fourteen years. In his younger days, David rode motorcycles, played guitar, sang, and golfed. He lived life to its fullest and had many great stories and funny jokes to tell.
David's loving memory and all the laughs will be shared through all the years by his daughters, Angelene (James) Heller and Kathleen Fuller; son, Peter (Alayna) Fuller; grandchildren: Nathan Heller, Serayna Green, Amaya Green, Ethan Green, Anthony Green, Lily Fuller, Austin Fuller, Aurora Fuller, and Rylee Fuller; and his siblings: Dennis (Karen) Fuller, Ruthann (Robert) Weiss, Maryann Fuller, Diane Fuller-Erickson (Dave, life partner), Judy (Robert) Kohel, Fred (Debbie) Fuller, Gail (Mike) Riesner, Charles (Denise) Fuller, and Teresa Fuller.
Celebration of Life will be at South Shore Yacht Club, Commodore's Cove, on May 31, 2023, from 5:30-8pm. Service begins at 6pm.
