David Gosda Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wiley Funeral Home - Granbury on Aug. 17, 2024.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of David Aaron Gosda, 31, of Cresson Texas, on August 11, 2024.
David was born in Norman Oklahoma on February 23, 1993 to Brian and Whitney Gosda, joining proud older brother, Scott and completing their family.
After moving to Texas where he attended elementary through high school, David graduated from Central High School in Keller in 2011. He then attended and graduated from the University of North Texas in 2020 with a Bachelors of Science in Business Marketing.
David was a car enthusiast with a true entrepreneurial spirit, finding cars, especially classics, to fix up to sell to other car lovers. He could sell just about anything to anyone and usually for more than it was worth.
More than just a car guy, David will be remembered for his investment in others, whether it be a good friend, stranger, or family. Always the cheerleader for his family and friends, championing and supporting their accomplishments and blessings, David also showed his love of others by sharing his sense of humor, often giving those closest to him witty, spot on and at times, inappropriate nicknames.
David was at his best and showed his true heart most often when caring for others, whether it be a late-night conversation, or most recently, moving in with his grandparents to support them during his grandfather's final days. Staying with them allowed his grandfather to be in his home with family until his passing last month.
David's legacy will be that of love and pride he had in his family and friends. He had the gift of being able to talk to anyone from small children to people who are elderly, while showing that they were valued. He worked with individuals who have disabilities, providing employment services. He was extremely invested in his clients, celebrating every success with each of them. By example, David demonstrated that every person, no matter their station in life, deserved to be loved and respected.
David is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Robert Gosda, Jerry Graham, Odis Lynch, Bob Watts, and grandmothers Karen Graham and Winifred Gosda. He is survived by his precious grandmothers, Pat Lynch of Granbury Texas, and Dixie Watts of Mesa Arizona, parents Brian and Whitney Gosda of Cresson Texas, brother Scott Gosda and sister-in law Mandy of Fort Worth Texas and three of his favorite people in the world: nephew Myles Gosda and nieces Lilly and Holly Gosda. David was blessed with loving aunts, uncles and his cousins, and so many others whom he adored. David had many wonderful friendships over the years, but his buddy Troy Dunivan, whom he met when he was 9 years old, has been his ride or die ever since and has helped the family immensely.
Services will be held on Monday, August 19, 2024 at 11:00 am at: • Fellowship of the Parks Church • 9900 North Beach Street • Keller, Texas 76244
All are welcome to attend to celebrate David. The family will be at the venue at 10:15am to visit with anyone who would like to offer their condolences before the services.
As the church is only hosting the service, the family requests that flowers and memorials not be sent to the church, but rather to 124 Stonewick Dr, Cresson TX, 76035.

I've spent the past week looking for photos of David and me from a family reunion many years ago, but have not located them. However, pictures will never replace the memories of that time. David and I were teammates for a series of events that had been planned for the week, and our matching light blue Hawaiian patterned shirts and white bucket caps easily identified us. I was so happy to see the excitement on his face, as a youngster, and it was his smile that will always bring one of mine. I last spoke with David a couple of months ago on a FaceTime call. He was busy detailing a car that his father had decided to sell. His attention to the task at hand demonstrated his love for cars, and for his father, my nephew Brian. David and I talked for over an hour, and he told me about the time he was spending taking care of his grandfather, Otis. He truly cared for him in the best and deepest way possible. These are the memories of David that I will carry with me. The sparkle in his eyes, and the broad grin on his face are not to be forgotten. I am sending my love and affection to Brian, Whitney, Scott, Mandy and their children today. I hope you find some solace in knowing that David's memory will live on. Love, Randy
