David Halbert

David Halbert 69 of Odessa, passed away on July 1, 2024. A celebration of life will be held at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel.
David was born on November 16, 1954 in Odessa, Texas to JD and Juanita Halbert. David lived in Odessa his entire life and has made invaluable impacts at Mobil Oil for five years, Rexene/Huntsman Complex in Odessa for 30 years, Kinder Morgan in Snyder, Texas for five years, and most recently celebrated a 10 year anniversary with Energy Transfer in Garden City. He has made countless friends along the way and enjoyed his colleagues and their friendship through the years. Outside of work, David has volunteered to help numerous organizations around Odessa and has made a positive impact in many lives. Above all, David was a Christian and wonderful husband, father, friend, and Gampy.
David is survived by his wife Debra, his son Matthew Halbert and wife Brittany, his daughter Brittain Avants and husband Carey. David was the proud Gampy of four grandsons, Coulson Halbert, Callan Halbert, William Avants, and Hudson Avants. David had numerous nieces and nephews.
David is preceded in death by his mother and father, JD and Juanita Halbert.
The family would like to express their gratitude for all of David's friends who have reached out in support during this time. They appreciate the prayers and kind words.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Tunnel to Towers Foundation, or another charity of your choosing in David's name.
