Melinda K. Halbert, age 56, went to be with her Lord on July 31st, 2025. Services will be held Sunday August 3, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at The Church on Main in Caledonia; burial will follow at Egger Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday one hour prior to service at the church. She was born in Tupelo, Ms. and raised in the Ballardsville community of Itawamba Co. She passed away at home in McCalla Al. Melinda was a sweet, kind and loving wife and mother. She was a blessing to her family. Melinda made friends easily and was s joyful, happy and comforting soul. Although suffering long term health issues, she always handled them with strength and courage, putting her faith in God. Melinda enjoyed spending time with her family, reading and watching her hummingbirds. She was a respiratory therapist for 14 years and then a home maker. She was preceded in death by her son Eric Taylor Halbert, her mother Evelyn Mcduffie, her father Bill Sheffield, her brother David Sheffield, her father-in-law Inge Halbert and her mother-in-law Martha Halbert. Services will be held Sunday, August 3rd at 2pm with visitation at 1pm at the Church on Main, Caledonia Ms.
Survivors include her husband, Michael Eric Halbert, son Brent Michael Halbert (Kamryn); brother Billy Sheffield (Cheryl); sister Debbie Russell (Paul); her brother in law Phillip Halbert (Amanda); her cousin in law Christy Painter (Michael); Uncles and Aunts; many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Billy Sheffield, Larry Walton, Jerry Walton, Randy Finch, Michael Painter and Barry Goode. Honorary pallbearers are Bobby Egger, Matt Egger, David Seely, Rhys Painter, Larry Lawrence, Graham Allen, Don Bennett, Dr E.A. Mangieri and staff, Dr Jeanne Lipscomb and staff, Dr Jennifer Burdette and staff, Dr Winn Walcott and staff, nurses and staff of Optum Infusion, and DCH Medical Center Respiratory Dept.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to United Cerebral Palsy, a cause dear to her heart.
