David L. Hall, 77, of the Plantsville section of Southington, CT, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, on Monday, March 25, 2024, after a fierce and courageous battle with cancer. He was the loving husband of Marie (Dos Santos) Hall for 54 years.
David was born in Kankakee, Illinois on June 1, 1946, to the late Robert and Virginia (Johnston) Hall. He graduated from Danbury High School and earned his Master's Degree from the University of Bridgeport. Dave worked as an Electronic Engineer at Canberra Industries for over 45 years.
Dave was a creative and talented individual, who could build and fix anything. He was a role-model for kindness and will be remembered as being the ultimate gentleman. He was willing to help anyone in need and extremely generous with his time. Dave put family first and was a wonderful husband, father and the best “Poppy” to his beloved grandchildren.
In addition to his wife Marie, Dave is survived by his daughter, Dawn Pooler, her husband Mark Pooler, his son Todd Hall, and four adored grandchildren: Tyler, Matthew, Trevor, and Abby, all of Southington. Dave is also survived by three siblings, Christine Hall of Goleta, CA, Douglas Hall, wife Cheryl and sister Tammy Hall, all of Milford, NJ, as well as his two brothers-in-law, Anthony Dos Santos of Valencia, CA and Peter Ticali of Queens, NY, several nieces and nephews, and his faithful dog, Maggie. Dave was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Diane Ticali.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Dave’s memory may be made to LIVESTRONG at the Y program for cancer survivors; Dave was a proud graduate of this program earlier in his fight against cancer. Donations can be made to the Southington Community YMCA, 29 High St., Southington, CT 06489 c/o Mark Pooler or made here: https://www.sccymca.org/annual-support-campaign - please leave reference David Hall in the comments if donating electronically.
