David Michael Hansen of Neenah, WI passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on December 30, 2023 at the age of 37 after living with cancer for the last 3 years. He was born to Scott and Linda (Craig) Hansen on May 13, 1986 in Milwaukee, WI. After graduating from Appleton West High School with the class of ’04, he went on to study Accounting at UW Madison, graduating with a Master’s degree in 2010. David met the love of his life, Kimberly Kneepkens through his former workplace and they were married in June of 2018.
David was a wonderful, kind-hearted, and compassionate man. He always put others’ needs before his own when he could, even through his recent struggles. David had a mentoring spirit and was passionate about coaching people in a positive way. He was always willing to listen and help others in any way he could. David truly loved music and shared his love of music with his wife, Kim. David and Kim attended as many concerts as possible and enjoyed collecting vinyl record albums together. He was also a big supporter of all Wisconsin sports teams, especially his Alma Mater, the Wisconsin Badgers, and his hometown team, the Brewers. David was aways up for seeking out new hobbies, traveling to new places, taking on projects at home and spending summers nights grilling the perfect meal. More than anything, though, David loved his family and friends and spent as much time as he could with all his loved ones.
David will be dearly missed by his beloved wife, Kim Kneepkens; his parents, Scott and Linda Hansen; his parents-in-law, Bob and Sue Kneepkens; his grandparents, Gene and Betty Craig and Nancy Hansen; his brothers, Brian (Amber) Hansen and Eric (McKenzie) Hansen; his nieces and nephews, Cole, Walter, Jane, Molly, and Alice Hansen; as well as many other extended relatives and dear friends.
David was proceeded in death by his grandfather, Chris Hansen.
A memorial visitation will be held for David from 2:30 – 5:30 PM on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Wichmann Tri-County Chapel, 1592 S. Oneida St, Menasha, WI 54952 with a celebration of life to follow at 5:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in David’s name to be donated to various organizations he was passionate about.
David’s family would like to extend a special thanks to all the doctors and nurses at the cancer center at St. Elizabeth Hospital for all their compassionate care they provided to David. Thank you to Dr. George at Froedtert’s Faith Clinic for his attentive treatment. Also, an extra special thanks to the staff at Compassus hospice - especially nurse Hillary - for all their dedication and support shown during David’s time of need. Thank you as well to David’s employer, U.S. Venture, and all his coworkers for their patience, understanding, and support over the past few years. All your love is deeply appreciated.
David, YOU’RE the best
