David Heikkila Obituary

David J. Heikkila
Austin, Texas
Age 49. Died unexpectedly, Saturday, September 21, 2024.
David is the beloved son of Robert Heikkila of Oxford and the late Kathleen(Conley) Heikkila (d. 2022); cherished brother of Joe (Carrie) Heikkila of Bloomfield Township. David is also survived by his nieces and nephews Patrick, Caitlin, Conor, Carys, Aubrey, and Elise.
Dave was born and raised in Royal Oak. He went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management from Eastern Michigan University. He enjoyed his career as a Project Estimator in commercial construction, and eventually earned his MBA from Oakland University. His work took him all over the U.S., and he lived in Phoenix, Baltimore, Washington D.C., Atlantic City, Cleveland, Hartford, Dallas, and, most recently, Austin. Dave will be remembered for his kind, easy-going personality. He had no problem traveling alone, yet he always made it home to spend time with family, sharing his love of music, the outdoors, and sports -especially the Detroit Lions. He will live in our hearts as a devoted son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend.
Family will receive friends Friday, October 4, 2024 from 4-8PM with a 7PM Rosary at A.J. Desmond & Sons (Vasu, Rodgers & Connell Chapel), 32515 Woodward Avenue (between 13-14 Mile), Royal Oak, (248) 549-0500.
Funeral Mass Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 10AM at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church, 32340 Pierce Street, Beverly Hills. Visitation at church will begin at 9:30AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes to the American Heart Association.
Thank you for keeping David's family in your thoughts and prayers at this sad time.
