David Alan Hennes, born on May 23, 1958, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, passed away on July 6, 2024, after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Dave's journey was marked by a diverse career that spanned numerous industries. From his service in the navy to managing restaurants, owning a bar, working in insurance, and delivering auto parts, he approached each endeavor with dedication and skill. He was able to adapt and excel in various roles.
Outside of work, Dave found joy in simple pleasures. He loved playing canasta, watching old westerns, Mash reruns, and trying his luck at roulette.
Dave's greatest source of pride and joy was his family. He shared 45 years of marriage with his beloved wife, De Hennes. Together, they raised two daughters, Amber Hennes and Danielle Kopas. He was a loving father-in-law to Anthony (Tony) Kopas and cherished his role as grandfather to Samantha, Connor, Mason, Carson, Presley, and Danny.
Dave was preceded in death by his father, Richard Hennes, and his mother, Gloria Hennes as well as his mother in law Carol Smith. He leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy of hard work, love, and devotion to his family.
A celebration of Dave's life will be held on August 17, 2024, providing an opportunity for family and friends to honor his memory and share stories of his remarkable life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Lung Association, reflecting his valiant fight against lung cancer.
David Alan Hennes will be deeply missed but remembered fondly for his strength, snarky attitude, kindness, and the impact he made on those fortunate enough to know him.
