David Hester was born on June 14, 1960 to Billie and Elaine Hester in Joliet, Illinois. David passed away peacefully at home after a seven year battle with cancer. David attended Joliet grade schools and Joliet Central High School, where he met his high school sweetheart, Reva. David began working at ComEd Collins Station in Morris shortly after high school where he would eventually retire in 2017.
David was an avid golfer. He was a Joliet Sweet Swinger since 1980. He was also a First-Tee golfing coach volunteer. In his free time, David enjoyed fishing, playing basketball, playing video games, traveling while golfing, as well as spending time with his grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Elaine; father, Billie; brother Tracy, and special niece, Taylor Hester.
David is survived by his loving wife Reva, children David Jr. (Samantha), DAVEDA, Candice, and son-in-law, Chuck; brothers, Billy (Cathy), Mark (Anna); sisters, Sabrina and Valencia, best friend Blaine White, and golfing buddy, Ernie Clarke. David is also survived by his grandchildren, Davianna, Jaron, Heaven, Charles Jr., Alyssa, Caleb, Jaloni, and great-granddaughter, Symphoni; godson, Christian Smith and special nephew, Jeremiah Grubbs, and a host of Aunts, Uncles, in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The family of David Hester would like to thank Oak Tree Hospice, as well as, the staff at University of Chicago Oncology department at Silver Cross Hospital. The family would also like to thank friends and close relatives for calls and prayers durning this difficult time. Memorial services for David Hester will be announced at a later date.
