Richard David Hughen, devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather, passed away on July 3, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He is preceded in death by his parents, William & Doris Hughen.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Judith (Judy) Vanhook Hughen; children, Shannon Hughen (Stephen) Giger, Wendi Hughen, & Michelle Hughen Spencer; sister, Linda (Julie) Hughen; stepchildren, Daniel (Laura) Alsup, & Debbie (Mike) Sloan as well as several grandchildren & great grandchildren.
David attended Castle Heights Military Academy, Arkansas State University and was a graduate of Hall High School in Little Rock, Arkansas. Known for his gift of storytelling, David could captivate any room with his charm, wit, and unforgettable tales. He was owner of Palm Beach Enclosures, and enjoyed his retirement in South Florida.
He had a deep love for animals-especially dogs-and found great joy in gardening, fishing, and playing tennis. A lifelong car enthusiast, he never missed the chance to admire or purchase a new vehicle. David and his wife were longtime season ticket holders for the Tennessee Titans and shared many game-day memories together.
Above all, David cherished time with his family. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart, and he poured his love and energy into every moment spent with them. David's legacy is one of love, laughter, and a life well lived. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation with Mr. Hughen's family will be held on Thursday, July 10th 3-5 p.m. in the Partlow Funeral Chapel. A Celebration of Life will follow in the Partlow Chapel at 5:00 p.m. Bro. Glenn
Denton will officiate the service.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in David's memory to New Leash on Life, 507 Jim Draper Blvd., Lebanon, TN 37087.
