Hartsell Funeral Home - ConcordDavid Hunt passed away on September 25, 2025 in Mt. Pleasant, North Carolina.
David was born February 16, 1943 in Princeton, New Jersey to parents Charles Edward Hunt and Esther Maxine (Chamberlain) Hunt and was a member of the Crosswicks Methodist Church.
He grew up in Allentown, New Jersey and began his working career in the dairy industry with his brother Don. After graduation from Hamilton High School West in 1961 he enlisted in the Naval Air Reserve at Lakehurst, New Jersey. Having completed his Naval service his love of automobiles led him to open East Coast Custom Autobody Shop in Allentown, NJ where he received many accolades for his work on Corvettes. He won Best in Show paint at the Philadelphia Auto Show in the early eighties. In his later years he was an antique dealer in North Carolina.
David is survived by his partner of twenty six years Jean Fortney of Mt. Pleasant, NC. He is also survived by his siblings, Linda Adkins (Richard) of Goodyear, AZ, Daniel Hunt (Cathy) of Arlington, VA, Douglas Hunt (Barbara) of Willingboro, NJ, Kathleen Heggan (Les) of Littlestown, PA, Robert Hunt (Karen) of Spring City, PA, Phillip Hunt (Cindy) of Hardeeville, SC, Sarah Hunt (Robert Guinness) of Elsberry, MO and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Maxine and his brother Donald Hunt(Connie).
Services will be October 22, 2025 at 12:30 pm at The North Crosswicks Cemetery, Crosswicks, NJ.
Memorials in David's honor may be made to Wounded Warriors foundation.
