David Hunter Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Homes Corydon on Jan. 13, 2026.
David Alan Hunter, born on June 29, 1951 in Corydon, Indiana, went home on January 10, 2026. Throughout his life, he made Corydon his home, contributing to its community for 74 remarkable years. David was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Thomas and Lucile Hunter, his brother Mike Hunter and honorary grandson, Brian Hayse. David spent much of his career as a dedicated Plant Manager for Roman Marblene, a local marble manufacturing business and was a Prudential insurance agent for many years. His work ethic was unmatched, and he brought an infectious enthusiasm to his job each day. He was an avid golfer and bowler. His strong Christian faith shaped the way he lived and loved others. David's legacy will forever live on in the hearts of his devoted wife, Edie Hunter, and his cherished children, Whitney (John), Lacey (Matt), Andrew (Amanda), Connie (William) and honorary daughter Andrea Wilson. His beloved grandchildren Dalton Hunter (Molly), Chyanne Hansford, Marcus Hadley, Ava Gleitz, Hoyt Gleitz, Aubrey Hunter, Riley Hunter, Elizabeth Prow and his great-granddaughter Saylor Hunter. He also leaves behind his honorary great grandchildren Paxtyn McKim, Huxley McKim, Kolter McKiim, Emma Logan, Winston Mahoney, and Taylyn Mahoney. David's siblings Dick Hunter, Dianna Redden, Steve (Kim), Mary (Rick), Greg (Twanna), Veronica (Wayne), Kenneth Hubler, Jr., also survive him. Also, his honorary brother Reggie Baker. Each of them enriched his life in countless ways, and he cherished the memories and experiences they shared. David's life was a testament to the joy found in simple pleasures, the beauty of genuine relationships, and the importance of living each day to its fullest. As we mourn the loss of David, we also celebrate the love he brought into our lives, the laughter he incited, and the memories we were privileged to create with him. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon, IN. Visitation will be from 11 AM to 8 PM on Friday and from 9 AM to 10 AM on Saturday at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial gifts be made to Heth Washington Elementary School.
