DAVID RUSSEL JAMES
David Russel James, 61, Moberly, MO entered into rest on Saturday, August 17, 2024, following a long battle with cancer at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born January 19, 1963, in Moberly, MO the son of the late Jimmy James and Betty Lou (McCloud) James. On August 5, 1983, he was united in marriage to Sherri Yvonne Vinnedge.
In addition to his wife Sherri of 41 years, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sons Michael James and Holly of Moberly, MO and Marcus James and Lacy Hill of Huntsville, MO; his daughter Alica James of Columbia, MO; his grandchildren Owen James, Austen James, Tyler James, Nadelyn James, Douglas Talley, Aaliyah Talley, Marlie Talley, Delylah Talley, Harlan James, Jayden James, Charlotte James, Karlee Jefferson and Kaia Jefferson; his siblings Paul James and Amy of Columbia, MO, Susan Heath of Centralia, MO, Terry James of Columbia, MO, Tonya Hershey and Rae of Gulf Breeze, Fl and Brad Pentlin and Joana of Moberly, MO; brother in laws Ken Vinnedge and Tammy of Forreston, IL, Doug Vinnedge and Deb of Oakland City, IN, Pat Vinnedge and Lisa of Oakland City, IN and Jeff Vinnedge and Tammy of Oakland City, IN; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents, an infant daughter, his father-in-law Charles Vinnedge, mother-in-law Marilyn Vinnedge and brother-in-law Greg Heath preceded him in death.
David first worked as a truck driver and later was a picker for MBS in Columbia, MO. He enjoyed singing karaoke, dancing and spending time with his friends and family, especially all his grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at the Oliver Funeral Home in Sturgeon, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to the family, payable to Oliver Funeral Home, P.O. Box 125, Centralia, MO 65240. A venmo has been set up by the family and payments may be made to: @HollyJoJames.
