David Lee Jones

With very heavy hearts we announce the passing of David Lee Jones Jr, 66 years old, of Townsend, Delaware, who passed away on December 14, 2025.
Born November 15, 1959, in Wilmington Delaware, Dave was a devoted and loving father and grandfather. Dave grew up near Marshallton, Delaware. He graduated from Delcastle Technical High School. He served in the 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion under the 2nd Marine Division of the United States Marine Corps. Following his service in the Marine Corps, Dave worked as a corrections officer for the Delaware Department of Corrections. He attended Gallaudet University and was a successful business owner. He worked as a truck foreman for Diamond Materials LLC., from where he retired.
Dave had a lifelong love of outdoor adventure. This included hunting, trapping, fishing, foraging, camping, canoeing, and wandering in the woods. He was deeply connected with the earth, where he found solace as well as great enjoyment.
Dave had a fantastic fondness for western genre movies, books, and shows. Dave also loved bluegrass music.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sarah Kay Jones, his mother, Betty Ann (Johnson) Jones, father, David L. Jones Sr., brother, Mark Jones, and brother, Eric Jones.
He is survived by his son, David M. Jones, daughter, Shauna McAllister, daughter, Jessica L. Spencer, son, Tristan Jones, and daughter, Erica Jones, granddaughter, Brooke Jones, granddaughter, Taylor Jones, grandson, Jayden McAllister, grandson, Noah McAllister, granddaughter, Maddie McAllister, grandson, Brody McAllister, and wife, Julie Jones.
A viewing will be held Monday, December 29, 2025, from 3-5 pm at Daniels and Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 North Broad Street Middletown Delaware 19709, with opportunity to share memories and stories about Dave. Interment will be private.
