DAVID EARL KALISZEWSKI, 83, of Bellville, Texas, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2024, in Bellville.
He was born January 6, 1941, in Bellville, Texas, the son of Joe and Mary Ignasiak Kaliszewski. David grew up and attended schools in the Bellville area, graduating from Bellville High School in 1959. He was united in marriage to Velma Jane Mewis, on January 11, 1964, in Bellville. David was employed as a parts salesman for the Ford Motor Company for 40 years. He and Velma made their home in Houston before moving to Katy, then eventually Webster. After he retired, they moved back to Bellville, where David enjoyed tending to his cattle and garden, hunting and fishing, riding 4-wheelers with his grandchildren, and detailing cars.
David had an incredible sense of humor and loved making jokes. He liked to tease friends and strangers alike. During the holidays, David was known to wear "Grinch and Ba-humbug" shirts (mostly to get a raze out of Velma!) but he secretly loved opening gifts and celebrating the holidays with family. He was known to his friends as "Polock" and "Grandpa" to his grandchildren and all their friends. He will be missed by so many that knew him.
David is survived by his wife: Velma Kaliszewski of Bellville; daughter: Tracy Isaacks and her husband, Michael, of League City; son: Scott Kaliszewski and his partner, Tonja Heil, of Bellville; grandchildren: Tiffany Isaacks of Alvin, Ashley McCoy and her husband, Ruben, of Mont Belvieu, Brock Isaacks of League City, Paige Hanley and her husband, Drew, of Seabrook, Megan Brown of San Antonio, and Levi Heil of Bellville; great-grandchildren: Riley, Madison, and Lane Chaput of Alvin, Tinleigh, Olivia, and Aidyn McCoy of Mont Belvieu, and Eva and Lexi Hanley of Seabrook; brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Chip and Gwen Lisbony of Galveston; nephew: Rodney "Rocky" Kaliszewski of Mt. Calm; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Joe and Mary Kaliszewski; sisters: Clara Biskup and Flo Rosner; brother: Joe Kaliszewski, Jr.; nephew: Gary Biskup; and niece: Jean Krenek.
Pallbearers are Rodney Kaliszewski, Chad Jessel, Brock Jessel, Michael Isaacks, Brock Isaacks, and Keith Linseisen. Honorary pallbearers are Bill Kaliszewski, Connie Mewis and Paul Mewis
