David Brent Koch, 72, of Jackson, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at his home in Jackson.
He was born July 6, 1953, in Cape Girardeau, to Kenneth F. and Betty L. Peel Koch. He and Teresa Schweer were married July 6, 1990.
Dave was a 1971 graduate of Jackson High School. Even after high school Dave never lost his Indian pride. You could find him and his family in the stands at almost all Jackson High School games. Dave also enjoyed fishing, St. Louis Cardinals baseball, the 49ers, Rams, and USA Olympic Men’s Hockey team. Most importantly, spending time with his family and grandchildren is what meant the most to him.
Dave loving survivor’s include his wife of 36 years, Teresa Koch and their children: Jason Koch, Justin (Jamie) Koch, Jessica (Kevin Friedrich) Koch all of Jackson and Tyler (Catherine) Koch of Memphis, Tennessee; 10 grandchildren; Bailey, Aden, Adam, Madi, Luke, Laken, Emma, Campbell Koch, and Kamden and Aubriee Powers. Dave’s siblings: Dennis (the late KiKi) Koch, Chris (Susan) Koch, Chuck (Cynda) Koch, Linda (the late Frank) Monroe, Amy Moore, all of Jackson; Sisters-in-laws: Rose (late Kenneth D. “Danny”) Koch of Greenville and Michelle (late Doug) Koch of Jackson. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Teresa’s surviving family includes her Stepmother, Kathy Schweer of Cape Girardeau and her sister-in-law Gina (late Jim) Schweer of St. Louis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Donald, Debbie, Doug, and Kenneth “Danny” Koch. Teresa’s parents, Harold “Skeeter” and JoAnn Matz Schweer; her brother, James “Jim” Schweer; and her sister, Kim Schweer.
Visitation will be Friday February 27, 2026, from 4-7pm and Saturday February 28,2026 from 10am to service time at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. Funeral Service will be at 11am with Rev. Sam Roethemeyer officiating. Interment will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
If considering a memorial contribution, the family suggests St. Judes.
