David R. Krider, 84, of rural Churubusco, passed away at 9:45 a.m., on March 26, 2023, at Stillwater Hospice. He was born in Allen County, on September 9, 1938, to the late Joe and Grace (Chapman) Krider. He spent his formative years in rural Allen County and graduated from Huntertown High School. On July 24, 1971, he married Elaine Carol Reidenbach in Monroeville. She preceded him in death on July 23, 2011. David started his career at Borden's, where he worked in production. He also worked for Meadow Gold and Mullinex. David was a family man. He enjoyed daily phone calls from his daughter and Friday pizza dinners. David loved to get together for holiday gatherings with his daughters and their families and was always watching the weather for his family. He was a man of routine, which included his daily breakfast at IHOP and dinner at Don Hall's Hollywood. He was an avid I.U. basketball fan and would watch any Big Ten team. He loved March Madness. David is survived by four daughters, Terri (David) Wolf, Tammy (Scott) Raymer, Tanya (Scott) St. Louis, and Darlene (Andrew) Lee; two brothers, Stanley E. (Gaurdis) Krider and Rev. Eldon L. (Margo) Krider; several nieces and nephews; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Krider; a sister, Sheryl Krider. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 31, 2023, at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel, with calling one hour prior to the service. The family will also receive family and friends at the Funeral Home from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 30, 2023. The burial will be in the Eel River Cemetery, Churubusco. Memorials may be directed to Stillwater Hospice, Fort Wayne.
