David L. Powers, age 74 of Huber Heights, Ohio passed away peacefully with his family by his side on October 21, 2025. He was born September 5, 1951 in Springfield, Ohio son of the late Gerald (Patricia Powers) and Jenny (Hall) Powers.

David was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a United States Air Force Veteran who proudly served his Country. He was the President of the Old North Dayton Priority Board. Also serving on the Zoning Commission Board. David was self employed at Dave Powers RV Repair for many years. He retired from US Xpress leaving behind many friends. He had a passion for Drag Racing and loved racing his 65 Dodge Cornett. David was a faithful member of The Salvation Army Kroc Center also leading the Mens Fellowship Group. David loved Christmas and he volunteered his time with The Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Program. His family was his pride and joy and David loved to bring laughter to those around him. He will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his brother, Richard "Dick" Powers.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Patricia "Patty" Powers; sons, Tony (Melanie) Powers, Christopher (Billie) Rice, and Donnie (Kat) Green; daughter, Dondra (Cecil) Doolin; grandchildren, Kayla (Tyler), Brooke, Jolene, Braylon, Keagan, Brandon (Taylor), Jennifer, Megan, Lexi, Aden, Allison (William), Sharla (Christian), Cecil Jr., and Kassondra; great grandchildren, Dylan, McKenna, Sawyer, Kadence, Grayson, Emma Grace, Opheilia, and Athena; nephew, Richard (Michelle) Powers II.; niece, Regenia (Beth) Powers; as well as numerous other family members and friends.

The family will receive family and friends on Thursday, October 30, 2025 from 4-8pm at The Salvation Army Kroc Center, 1000 North Keowee Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45404.

A visitation will be held on Friday, October 31, 2025 from 9-10am with a funeral service beginning at 10am all at The Salvation Army Kroc Center. With Burial to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
