Jenette M. Whitson, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on October 22, 2025, in Huber Heights, Ohio, at the age of 50. Born on November 5, 1974, in Biloxi, Mississippi, Jenette brought light and joy to everyone around her. She graduated from Wayne High School and went on to touch countless lives with her unwavering spirit and warmth.
Jenette was truly the soul mate of her husband, Kenneth Whitson. Together, they shared a bond that instantly made those around them feel the depth of their connection. From caring for others to sharing laughs that echoed through family gatherings, her personality shone brightly. An adventuress at heart, Jenette embraced life’s experiences with open arms, yet possessed a gentle shyness that would sometimes lead her to savor quiet moments to herself.
Her dedication to her family was immeasurable. She is survived by six children: Christopher Hammersley (Adriean), Michael Whitson, William Whitson, Matthew Whitson, Cecilia Hammersley and Katie Cardona. Jenette’s love did not stop there, as her grandchildren—Lucas, Kaleb, Josie, Ellie, Aumora, Dakota, Adeline, Maribelle, Keaton, and Coraline—were the apples of her eye. The joy she felt in their presence transformed every moment into a cherished memory, creating a beautiful legacy that will be fondly remembered by each one of them.
Active in her community, Jenette was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. She loved singing; her voice, full of passion and emotion, resonated in the hearts of those who listened. Singing was not just a pastime for Jenette; it was a way for her to connect with her spirituality and express her joy and gratitude for the life she led.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Kenneth, her five children, her adoring grandchildren, and her brother, Sean McCarthy, along with many other family members and friends who deeply valued her presence in their lives.
As we remember Jenette, let us carry forward her spirit of love, laughter, and adventure. Although she is no longer with us in body, her memory will forever resonate in our hearts, guiding us along the path she so beautifully illuminated during her time with us. She is preceded in death by her cherished parents, Thomas McCarthy and Katherine McCarthy, who welcomed her with open arms above, where she will continue to sing with joy.
