James Paul Wilkes "Jim", age 75, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2025 surrounded by family.
Jim was a graduate of Wayne High School and is the son of George and Betty Wilkes. He spent most of his career as a mechanic at Rodgers Pontiac. After that, he worked for the Huber Heights School District and retired with over 10 years of service.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Julie Wilkes; son, Jason (Molly); sister, Patty (Barry); stepsons, Chris (Jessica) and Nick Balsamo (Kathryn), granddaughter, Amber (Brandon, Hanna and Benny); his K9 companion, Bear; and several lifelong friends and family members.
Jim was very passionate about spending time with family and friends. He loved Miller Lite, the Pittsburgh Steelers, hanging out on his patio, and being belly up at your local Legion/Amvets. He was a lifelong member of the American Legion 675 where he served various roles supporting the Sons of the American Legion.
Please join us for a Celebration of Life on June 22nd, from 1-4 at the Amvets Post 464, 5420 Brandt Pike, Huber Heights, OH 45424. Entry and parking will be in the back of the building.
