David A. Lang

David A. Lang, age 71, of Peoria, passed away at 4:28 PM on Friday, May 2, 2025 at Goldwater Care Nursing Home in Peoria Heights.
David was born February 13, 1954 in Peoria, a son to Frank and Jeanne (Wanniger) Lang. He graduated Salutatorian from Bergan High School with the Class of 1972. After high school he attended the University of Dallas where he graduated Cum Laude with a bachelor's degree in education. David taught at Spalding Institute and Richwoods High School. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed coaching football and baseball at both Spalding Institute and Richwoods. He devoted his life to teaching, truly loving his students and creating memories with them. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his mother Jeanne of Peoria; two sisters: Mary Lang of Peoria and Amy Lang of Chicago; as well as one niece Amanda Carmichael of Denver, CO.
David was preceded in death by his father and brother Eric.
Visitation will be held at Wright & Salmon Mortuary on Friday, May 9, 2025 between the hours of 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Thomas Catholic Church on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 12:00 PM with an additional visitation 30 minutes prior to mass. Msgr. Jason Gray will officiate, and burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery in West Peoria.
Preferred memorials in David's memory may be made to the American Stroke Association.
