David Lee Leighty

David Lee Leighty, age 71, of Pedricktown, NJ passed away on July 16, 2024. Born to the late Woodrow and Anna Lou (Hinckle) Leighty, David was a life-long Salem County resident and was a 1971 graduate of Penns Grove High School. He worked as a millwright at DuPont, mostly at the Experimental Station in Wilmington, DE, from which he retired after more than 40 years.
David will always be remembered as a devoted husband, father, Pop-Pop, brother, uncle, friend, coach, and Santa whose greatest joy came from spending time with his family. He also loved crabbing, fishing, camping and barbecuing outback by the pool with those he loved. He could make or fix just about anything; he was dearly loved by all.
David is survived by his loving wife, Roseanne (nee Caruso-Driver) Leighty; his daughters Patricia Leighty, Anna Leighty (Tom), Shannon (Vincent) Menei and Jessica (Colm) Driver-Bright; his grandchildren Emily, Jeffrey, Sophia, Leo, KJ, Ella and Anthony; his brothers Bruce (SueAnn) Leighty, Rob (Lianne) Leighty, and Joe Romano; and his loving nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters Elizabeth Leighty and Joanne Romano.
Services will be held at Adams Funeral Home, 64 Broad Street, Woodstown, NJ 08098. There will be a visitation on Tuesday night, July 23, 2024 from 6 to 8 PM. There will be another visitation the following morning on July 24, 2024 starting at 10 AM leading to the funeral service at 11 AM. Burial will be private.
