David E Looker, 72 of Royal Center, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2022, in Franciscan Health Center, Lafayette.
Born January 22, 1950, in Logansport, he was the son of the late D.A. Looker and Lula Frances (Cotner) Looker.
Following his graduation from Logansport High School, David enlisted in the U.S. Army October 19, 1969, serving as a Staff Sergeant E-5 during the Vietnam Era. He was honorably discharged in October 20, 1977. During his time in the military, David took college classes to receiving several certifications. He was the recipient of a meritorious service certificate for his role in saving the life of a fellow soldier after the man had been electrocuted. He was proud to be a member of the American Legion Post 60.
David was retired from Matthew Warren/Rockwell International, where he worked as a millwright for over 33 years.
A Past Master of the New Waverly Masonic Lodge, David was a member of Logansport's Tipton Masonic Lodge No. 33 and the Indianapolis Valley of Scottish Rite. He was fascinated with Native American artifacts and arrowheads and was a member of the Archeological Society. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on cars, welding and fabricating.
He is survived by his life partner, Pamela Feldt, Royal Center; three sons, Bryan (Julee) Looker, David Jr. (Stephanie) Looker, and Jason (Jessica) Looker; two stepchildren, Janet (Jim) Shipp, and Jason Mullins; seven grandchildren, Connor, Garrett, Madison, Joshua, Emily, Ryan and Ethan; and three step grandchildren, Preston Mullins, and Libby and Michael Shipp.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William E. Looker and Richard A. Looker: and two sisters, Rosalie Rowe and Ruth Ann Pursch.
A gathering of family and friends will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, in Fisher Funeral Chapel, followed by a memorial service at 4 p.m. The Cass County Honor Guard will conclude with full military honors.in tribute to David's outstanding military career.
