David Michael "Mike" Love, age 66, of Monroe, passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2022 in his home.
Mike was born January 12, 1956 in Monroe, he was the son of Billy Dan Love and Dorothy M. (Needham) Keck. He married Jill L. Morgan May 24, 2012 in Monroe.
He was a 1975 graduate of Monroe High School.
He worked for 46 years at GM PowerTrain in Toledo and UAW Local 14.
Mike was a longtime member of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church; at one time he was and usher and active with the Men's Group and Bible study.
Mike was a man who liked to stay active. He enjoyed body building, traveling, SCUBA diving, Harley Davidson Motorcycles, classic cars (especially Corvettes) going to his lake home and boating.
He is survived by his wife, Jill Love of Monroe; his mother, Dorothy Keck of Monroe; three children, Shawn Love, Jonathon Love and April (Leslie) Love-Schull all of Three Rivers; stepdaughter, Chelsea Swinkey of Monroe; four siblings, Dan (Jane) Love of Monroe, Victoria Keck of Lincoln, NE, Dana (Raymond) McElwain and Danise Love both of Toledo; five grandchildren, Apria, Kira, BayLee, Kadence and Grace; one step grandchild, Cecilia and one great grandson, Briar.
He is preceded in death by his father and stepfather, Donald Keck.
Visitation will be held Monday, August 1, 2022 from 12 noon to 2 p.m. at Monroe Missionary Baptist Church, 14260 S. Dixie Hwy., Monroe, where services will begin at 2 p.m. Rev. Roy Southerland, will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Karmanos Cancer Institute at www.karmanos.org/giftofhope
