On Monday, May 19, 2025, David Neil Madden, 60, of Henderson, departed this life peacefully in the Lucy Smith King Care Center. David went to meet his Lord and Savior and be with his mother and father who went before him. He was born February 26, 1965, to the late Charles E. Madden and Grace Marie Jones Madden.
David was born with Down syndrome and lived at home his entire life cared for by his loving mother until her death in 2021, and then by his sister, Margaret. David attended special education classes at Cairo Elementary School, Riverview School and Barret Center where he made many friends. After graduating from Barret Center, he worked many years at the Hugh Sandefur Training Center with more than a few of those same friends. David enjoyed listening to music and singing along with his microphone, he was quite the Elvis Presley fan. He also looked forward to family dinners on holidays and birthdays and enjoyed parties and bowling with his Funtastics group.
He is survived by his sisters, Margaret Blanford, Wonda Dolin, Emma Stevenson (Bobby) and Darla Wilhelm (George), and brothers, Charles Madden (Donna) and Donald Madden, and nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Rev. Alan Todd will officiate. Family members will serve as pallbearers.

I think David also went to Poole School, Tri-County for Exceptional Children. I taught there. Children were bussed in from Henderson County.
