David McClary, age 70, passed away on Christmas Day, leaving behind a legacy of growth, complexity, and most importantly a family who will keep his stories-and his laughter-alive forever.
David held many titles: father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a man who believed that life was best served with a side of humor and a Dolly Parton soundtrack. His life was a journey of growth and deep family bonds, but he will be remembered most for the way he could make anyone laugh, even on the hardest days.
David shared a deep and joyful life with his longtime partner, Shirley Graham. Together, they built a foundation of unwavering support and created a lifetime of cherished memories.
He is survived by his six children: Gary (April) Perkins, Shannon McClary, Dustin McClary, Kirsten McClary, Shelley McClary and Kara (Angelo) Bowles. He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren and a beloved grand-dog, each a continuation of the family legacy he cherished.
Preceded in death by father, Donn Richard McClary, Sr.; mother, Flossie Jane McClary; daughter Beth Ann McClary, brother Donn “Rich” McClary, brother Vernon McClary, brother William “Fred” McClary; and sister Debbie (McClary) Perkins.
Though he has moved on, the echoes of his jokes and the warmth of his spirit will remain our 'Coat of Many Colors,' wrapping us in memories that will never fade.
In accordance with his wishes, no services will be held. Family and friends are invited to honor David privately, in their own time and in ways meaningful to them.
