David Miles Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Owen Funeral Home - Jeffersontown on Jan. 12, 2026.
David Lee Miles, age 74, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, and Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026, in Louisville Kentucky.

Dave was born to Mary J (Raun) and William A Miles Jr. and grew up with a natural gift for humor, warmth, and connection. He attended Seneca High School and later continued his education at Murray State University, experiences that helped shape his outgoing personalty and lifelong love of people.

Dave spent much of his professional life in car sales and retail, careers well suited to his charm, quick wit, and genuine interest in others. No matter where he worked, he left a lasting impression and many friendships behind.

Above all else, family was the most important thing in Dave's life. He took great pride in his loved ones and cherished time spent together, whether during holidays, celebrations, or everyday moments.

Dave absolutely loved Christmas. Since 2008, he proudly served as the resident Santa Claus at Wildwood Country Club, a role that brought him immense joy and allowed him to spread laughter and holiday cheer to generations of families. Known as the life of the party, Dave had an infectious laugh and remarkable ability to make people smile, even on their hardest days.

Dave was also a proud Mason and Shriner, organizations that reflected his commitment to fellowship, service, and helping others. Values he lived by throughout his life.

He is survived by his daughter, Tiffany D (Miles) Anderson, his beloved grandson Gage A Anderson, who brought him great pride and joy. Also his loving sister, Jane M (Miles) Ellis (John), his nieces Cynthia (Miles) Brown (Jason), and Lauren Ellis, and his nephews, William Miles (Jody), and Joseph A Miles.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Mary J and William A Miles Jr., and his brother William A Miles III.

Dave's spirit, humor and larger-than-life presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but the joy he shared will live on in the many memories he leaves behind.

His memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Owen Funeral Home-Jeffersontown, 9318 Taylorsville Rd. A memorial visitation will be from noon until time of his service Saturday at Owen Funeral Home-Jeffersontown.
