Mr. David Mims

Funeral services for Mr. David Mims, 49, of Gary, Texas will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 9, 2026, at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steven Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the Corinth Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4:00 p.m. Sunday at Hawthorn Funeral Home.

Mr. David Quincey Mims was born February 27, 1976, in Carthage, Texas. He passed this life February 3, 2026, at his Gary Home. David was born to the marriage of Sharon Lambert and Lanny Joe Mims. He was raised and schooled in Gary graduating with the Bobcat Class of 1995. David worked in construction, and as a wrecker driver for Garrett's Wrecker service and Cutter Wrecking Service. David loved working outside, hunting outside at night, and was a collector of shoes. He was one to help people, loved making them laugh and collected many friends along the way. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Erna Mims, and Christine Winn.

Mr. Mims is survived by his loving parents, Joe and Sharon Mims of Gary; brother, Corey Mims and wife Joanie of Carthage, sister, Brandi Mims of Carthage; nieces and nephews, Kaylee Mims, Avereigh Mims, Ava Cavaliere, Kaegan Esqueda and Joseph Esqueda; numerous, aunts, uncles and cousins and a host of friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be John Jones, Jack Stephenson, Adam Wilson, Kevin Jones, Joseph Esqueda and Shannon Ritter.
