Otis Stevens Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home - Allen on Feb. 5, 2026.
Otis Paul Stevens, Jr. "Cotton" of McKinney, Texas passed away January 19, 2026, at the age of 95. He was born to Otis Paul Stevens, Sr. and Neita Lois Kelley on August 20, 1930, in Gary, Texas. Otis graduated from Marshall High School. He was married to Lora Elise Stevens and Lajuana Sue Godwin. Otis was of the Presbyterian faith.

Cotton enjoyed life, his family, travel, fine dining, history, reading the newspaper and Texas Highways magazine.

Cotton played high school football and absolutely loved it. Bless his heart, he was a perfectionist. Brick mason by trade, he would critique the buildings wherever he was. He loved seafood, Mexican food and that one margarita at dinner. He was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. His memory will be cherished in our hearts forever.

He is survived by his son, Larry Stevens and wife, Rhonda; grandchildren, Joseph Stevens and wife, Amy, Brian Stevens and wife, Jennifer, Michael Stevens and husband, Marco, Chris Stevens, Joshua Stevens, Jacob Stevens, and Caleb Stevens; great grandchildren, Jalen Stevens, Jenna Stevens, Julien Stevens, Russell Stevens, Izzy Stevens, Scarlett Stevens, Jacob Stevens, II, and Jasper Stevens; sister, Nan Myers and husband, Mitchell; nieces and nephew, Misty Roberson, Mindy Preston, Mitch Myers; and a wonderful, devoted stepfamily.

He was preceded in death by his wives, Lora Stevens, Lajuana Sue Stevens, and son, Rory Stevens.

He was a firm believer in equal rights for all.

Our memories will be forever cherished.
