In Loving Memory of David Michael Minger Born: October 5, 1952 Died: September 13, 2025 Remembering David David Minger was cherished by all who knew him. He was widely recognized as an amazing and incredible man whose intelligence, knowledge, kindness, wit, and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone he met. David passed away unexpectedly on September 13, 2025. His passions included collecting upscale flashlights, gardening, hiking, jazz music, and spending time in nature. Though he did not have children of his own, David formed meaningful relationships with the children of his friends, becoming a beloved figure in their lives. He was known for sending beautifully wrapped and thoughtful gifts for every birthday and Christmas, demonstrating his caring and charitable nature. David was adored by family, friends, children, pets, and especially by his loving wife Mary. Their relationship was truly special, spanning 34 years filled with mutual adoration and companionship. Early Life and Education Born in Philadelphia on October 5, 1952, David spent his childhood in Miami and graduated from Killian High School in 1970. He attended Florida State and was in the ROTC. He later served in the United States Navy from 1978 to 1982 as a Junior Officer aboard the USS Hull out of San Diego, touring the Asian Pacific. David was honored with the Surface Warfare Officer Pin, a recognition of his professionalism and dedication. Career and Interests After completing his service in the Navy, David pursued a law degree and graduated from The University of Houston in 1985 with a Doctor of Jurisprudence. He joined the Texas State Bar Association in 1990 and went on to build a successful career in the wireless communication sector. David facilitated wireless site acquisition and zoning for major companies such as Verizon, T-Mobile, Cricket, AT&T, Mobility, and ORC. He retired in 2021 and spent his time enjoying gardening, reading, music, cooking, entertaining, and cherishing time with his wife. Family and Legacy David is survived by his soulmate of 34 years, Mary Christine Dixon-Minger, originally of Ashtabula, Ohio, and residing in Powell, Ohio for the past two decades. He is also survived by his brother Kevin Minger and sister-in-law Dawn Minger of North Carolina, as well as his sister Denise Maddox and brother-in-law Bob Maddox of Louisville, Kentucky. In lieu of a formal funeral, a small "Celebration of Life" garden gathering will be held in the coming days by invitation only. Instead of flowers, the family encourages donations to local homeless shelters, pet shelters, or to someone in need. A Lasting Tribute David Minger was an intellectual, a thought provoker, and a genuinely good man. He will always be greatly loved and immensely missed by all whose lives he touched. .
