Joseph Michael "Mike" Minger

It is with heavy hearts, but continued faith in God's perfect plan, that we share the passing of devoted husband and beloved father and grandfather, Joseph Michael 'Mike' Minger. He passed November 4, after complications while recovering from a brain bleed that occurred on September 27.
Mike was a man of integrity, character, kindness and grit. He believed in personal responsibility and always said, "Make it a great day!" as a reminder that happiness and success are ours to choose.
Mike was a dedicated and faithful husband of 52 years to his wife Jayne Anne, who he met at Schulte High School and loved deeply for 57 years. He was a loving father to his daughters Leslie and Becky, and proudly supported all of their endeavors. He was a positive presence and cheerleader for his son-in laws, Paden Wagner (Becky) and Rob Grobl (Leslie) and his grandchildren Aiden, Ava and Holden Grobl.
He was born and raised in Terre Haute, Indiana. He had a long and successful career as a sales and marketing executive across different industries that allowed him to travel the country, and the world. He never stopped working hard to build a beautiful life for his family.
Mike grew up an athlete, playing basketball, football and baseball, earning his college education with a baseball scholarship as a catcher for Indiana State University.
He also played the drums, loved to golf and was a lifelong Yankees, Green Bay Packers, and Notre Dame fan!
Mike loved music and watching The Voice. He enjoyed stand up comedy and his laugh was contagious. If you knew Mike, you know he told the best stories!
One of Mike's mottos was "It's not how many times you get knocked down, it's how many times you get back up". He fought many trials in this life, and when he got knocked down, he fought to get back up earning him the nickname "Miracle Mike".
Mike was a solid foundation that brought joy, inspiration, and motivation to his family, friends and colleagues. He leaves a legacy of hard work and doing the right thing. Mike will be deeply missed.
Mike was a proud American who had the highest respect for our nations first responders and military members. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation in honor of Mike's passion for supporting our nations hero's.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 17, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sylvania, Ohio. Visitation will be held at the church at 10:00 AM followed by Mass at 11:00 AM. Online condolences to reebfuneralhome.com
