David P. Mongillo, 61, of the Plantsville section of Southington, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025.
David was born on October 19, 1963 in Bristol to Lois (Miller) Mongillo and the late John S. Mongillo.
Dave established a career in the concrete industry, where he was employed by Amenta Concrete. He was an avid outdoorsman who valued the peace and tranquility that only nature could provide. He loved to go fishing and hiking every chance he could. Dave shared many memorable camping adventures alongside his brother John, throughout Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. He also enjoyed the freedom of the open road from behind the handlebars his motorcycle.
David is survived by his mother, Lois Mongillo of Plantsville, brother, John Mongillo of Southington, brother-in-law, Michael Guarino of Plantsville, daughter, Erica Citrullo and her children, Elizabeth and Dominic Gore, all of NC.
In addition to his father, David was predeceased by his brother, William Mongillo and his sister, Susan Guarino.
In lieu of flowers, donations in David’s memory may be made to the Friends of Southington Animal Control, 646 Woodruff St., Southington, CT 06489.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville. Burial will follow in South End Cemetery, Southington.
