David J. Moore, 69, passed away August 23, 2024 at Great Bend Regional Hospital, Great Bend, Kansas.
He was born June 3, 1955 in Pratt, the son of Gerald and Barbara Chase Moore. A longtime area resident; he worked at Doerr Metal and later worked at Larned Juvenile Correctional Facility as a Corrections Officer.
He was of the Pentecostal faith. He was a member of the Ft. Larned Arms Association, Inc., and NRA; was a boy scout leader, enjoyed woodworking, building and painting models and working on engines. He was a true handyman and always liked to keep his hands busy. He loved his family and always worried about others before worrying about himself.
On September 15, 1981 he married Betty Jean Seachris at Larned. She survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Mark (Lisa) Moore and John (Kristin Holmes) Moore, both of Larned; three brothers, Tom Moore, Branson, Missouri, George Moore, Springfield, Missouri, and Larry Moore, Branson, Missouri; a sister, Theresa Moore, Springfield, Missouri and seven grandchildren, Koyt Wiggins, Aubree Wiggins, Baylei Moore, Logan Beydler, Kaylee Mead, Jozlyn Mead, and Dominic Mead.
He was preceded in death by; his parents, a brother, Jimmy Moore, and a sister, RuthAnn Maxwell.
Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at Larned Cemetery with Bishop Mark Cowell presiding. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Beckwith Mortuary. Burial to follow in Larned Cemetery.
