David Lee Morgan, 73, went to his heavenly home June 5 at Hospice House.
He was a 1970 graduate of Randleman High School. He was a member of Forest Park Baptist Church where he served as deacon for many years. He retired from the State Department of Corrections after 30 years. He was a recipient of the Order of the Long Leaf Pine.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jan Morgan, a daughter, Heather Tabor (Jeremiah). His grandchildren whom he loved with all his heart. Granddaughters, Alexis Stinnett (Zach), Izzy Tabor, and Lynn Tabor (Christian). Grandsons, Austin Proctor (Sarah) and Alex Tabor. He was already in love with his great-granddaughter, Huntleigh Mae Stinnett, due in July. He is also survived by a brother, CR Morgan (Sheila).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Curt and Helen Morgan; two sisters, Lib Hedgecock (Jack), Frances (Hank) Hudson (Ottis); brother, Johnny Morgan; and his in-laws, Claude and Sybil Brady.
David loved his Lord, his family, and his church family. He will be greatly missed.
Memorials may be made to Randolph Hospice House, 416 Vision Dr, Asheboro, NC, 27203; Forest Park Baptist Church, 132 Gum St, Randleman, NC 27317; Old Union Church, 5077 Walker Mill Rd, Sophia, NC 27350; or anywhere donor chooses.
The family would like to thank the Hospice House staff for their love and compassion for our loved one.
The family will receive friends Friday, June 7, 2024 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 S. Main St, Randleman, NC. Graveside Services will be held Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Randolph Memorial Park with Reverend Joel McDuffie, Jr officiating.
NC DAC Honor Guard will provide State Honors.Pugh Funeral Home is serving the Morgan family.
