Age 90 of Morris, Illinois, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2025 in Morris.
Born August 11, 1934 in Joliet, Illinois, David Allen was the eighth of fourteen children born to Harry V. and Martha Mae (Little) Morgan. His early years were spent in Joliet, where he attended A.O. Marshall Grade School. His family then moved to Channahon and attended Minooka High School. On July 16, 1954 Dave married Judith Brown in Morris and it was there they made their home and raised their family.
He worked for Caterpillar Tractor Company in Aurora, Illinois for over thirty years as a mechanic in the automotive maintenance department until he retired in 1991. Dave was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Morris where he served on several committees and as a Church Elder. He took great pleasure in fishing and enjoyed many fishing trips with his son and grandson. He was fascinated by researching family history and celebrating his family's legacy.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Judy Morgan of Morris; two daughters, Christine (David) Perry and Alane Morgan, both of Morris, and one son, David A. (Danielle) Morgan, Jr. of Falls Church, Virginia; five grandchildren: Kevin (Rachel) Grieff, Mark Grieff (fiance: Rachel Couch), Noah Perry, Brady Morgan, and Brenna Morgan; one great grandson, Logan Grieff; one sister, Barbara Creevy, and one brother, Thomas Morgan; his godson, Scott (Theresa) Creevy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents; ten brothers: Harry, Art, Raymond, Herb, Jim, Don, Bill, Leo, Ken, and Dwight; and one sister, Lois Meyer.
Per his wishes, cremation rites were accorded.
A Graveside service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, 1300 Cemetery Road, in Morris on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. Reverend James D. Friesen will officiate.
Honorary pallbearers will be David's grandchildren.
Preferred Memorials may be made as gifts in Dave's memory to the First Presbyterian Church, 200 East Jackson Street, Morris, Illinois 60450, or to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 200 North La Salle Drive, Chicago, Illinois 60601.
