John Ethan Morgan, 59, of Nome, died Friday, August 15, 2025, at his home. He was born March 30, 1966, to Connie Culwell Morgan and Charles Samuel Morgan, in Mexico, Missouri.
John was an avid fisherman and hunter with a great passion for wildlife and the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing at his camp in Toledo Bend, hunting on the back 40 in Nome, spending time with family on the weekends, and coming to town every day to have lunch with his brother. He enjoyed history; rock hunting; collecting things like arrowheads, uranium glass, and coins; and telling stories about his childhood summers spent with his grandparents at the log cabin in Missouri. His most cherished role was being called "Papa John" and spending time with his daughter and grandchildren.
John worked for many years as a salesman for Beaumont Tractor the family-owned Kubota dealership. He helped start the business from the ground up in 1994 alongside his parents and was the first salesman of the company.
John had many loyal dogs over the years such as Kitty, Ruff, Cookie, Stray, and Roscoe; and if you saw John, you can bet one of his furry friends was by his side.
John is survived by his mother, Connie Morgan of Beaumont; daughter, Alisha Lovato and her husband, Luke, of Conroe; brother, Tom Morgan and his wife, Jenny, of Beaumont; Alisha's mother, Marcie Morgan of Conroe; granddaughters, Alice Lovato and Lily Morgan who call him "Papa John"; nieces, Lizzy and Tori Morgan and Ashley Morris, all of Beaumont, who call him "Uncle"; great-niece and nephew, Keeley and Ryan Begeman of Lumberton; and last but not least, his loyal companion, his dog, Roscoe. He is preceded in death by his father, Sam Morgan and his nephew, Ryan Morgan.
The family request that donations be made to the Humane Society of Southeast Texas, 2050 Spindletop Avenue, Beaumont, Texas 77705.
A gathering of Mr. Morgan's family and friends will be from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard's Crematorium.
