Dave was the beloved husband to Antonia "Toni" Morris (nee Malpezzi) for 54 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Joy Curry (Patrick), his granddaughters Virginia, Sandra and Emily, as well as his siblings Robert (Aileen), John, Joseph (Jane), Daniel (Mary Anne) and Mary Alice (William) and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents David and Anne, his brother James and sister-in-law Maude.
Dave spent the majority of his life in Northeast Philadelphia (Mayfair). As a boy he attended St. Timothy grade school and spent many summers in Ocean City, NJ which contributed to his love of fishing. He was a 1962 graduate of St. Joseph's Prep. After serving as an Army medic during the Vietnam War, Dave began a career with the PA Liquor Control Board that would span almost 40 years. Known for his love of chocolate (especially chocolate covered pretzels), mischievous gleam in his eyes and kind heart, Dave is already greatly missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet Dave's family on Tuesday June 17 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the McGhee-Givnish Funeral Home, 690 Belmont Ave., Southampton, PA 18966. A second greeting period will take place on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 from 10:00 AM until his Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Road, Holland, PA 18966 with funeral mass to follow. His interment will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA.
In lieu of sending flowers, contributions in Dave's name may be made to Caring for Friends (12271 Townsend Road, Philadelphia, PA 19154 or caringforfriends.org)

My husband Gene grew up next door on Unruh Ave and he had so many wonderful memories and stories of the family. Gene passed in Early May this year and Dino would have been to his service. Dan aka Fishhead and Joe paid their respects to Gene. Gene was so happy when Dino and Dan visited him in rehab. You were quite memorable my friend and you and Gene are together in Heaven.

Sincere sympathy to the entire family on the passing of a true one of a kind person and friend, Dave Morris. Prayers are with you at this time of sadness.
As I made some calls to other PLCB"ers, one theme within their comments was clear, Dave cared about others and was exceptionally well liked. Each person I talked to said the same thing: "Dave was always nice to me", or "What a great guy." I share the sentiment. He made us all glad to have met him and those of us who are lucky enough to call him friend are the most fortunate of all. With his passing, the world is an even colder place.

Dear Toni, Joy, and family-I was saddened to hear of my cousin, David´s passing. He was a big part of us Ruttle cousins´ growing years. He was especially dear to my brother, Jack who is unable to attend the service but sends his condolences none the less. I´ve made a donation to Caring for Friends in David´s memory and honor.
