Boucher Funeral Home, Inc.David J. "Moe" Morris, 74, of Gardner, MA, passed away on December 27, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on January 17, 1951, in Gardner, MA, he was the son of the late Lawrence E. "Ted" and Alice M. (Bourgault) Morris. Moe lived a life filled with love for his family, a passion for sports, and a deep involvement in his community.
Moe worked at Templeton Developmental Center for 25 years, where he dedicated himself to his work and made a lasting impact on many. Outside of work, he was actively involved in many of the social clubs in the area, where he managed and supported numerous events and activities. He was also a member of the Annunciation Parish in Gardner.
Moe was a lifelong fan of the Boston Celtics, the New England Patriots, and the Boston Red Sox. He loved nothing more than watching a game with family and friends, even attending 3 Super Bowls - one with each of his children. He also loved going on road trips across the U.S. and Canada, proudly traveling across the entire continental United States.
Moe's greatest joy, however, was his family. He is survived by his children, Lauren Payton and her husband James of Woburn, and Joshua Morris and his wife Rebecca of Templeton; three grandchildren, Adeline, Beckett, and Crew; and his partner, Cheryl Howes. He also leaves his siblings, Lawrence Morris Jr. and his wife Ann of Leominster, Marie Perreault and her husband Jack of Leominster, and Alice Oravetz and her husband Christopher of Cary, NC, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, John Morris.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 9, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA.
